"Veronica Mars": Ken Marino, Martin Starr Sign On for Movie

The "Veronica Mars" movie has added Ken Marino and Martin Starr to its cast. Series creator and film director Rob Thomas confirmed the casting in an email to the movie's backers.

Marino appeared in the series as private eye Vinnie Van Lowe. He last appeared in the series finale with his character running for sheriff against Keith Mars (Enrico Colantoni).

"Freaks & Geeks" alum Starr, who appeared in "Party Down" with Marino and several other "Veronica Mars" cast members, will play Lou “Cobb” Cobbler, "another 09’er returning for the ten-year reunion," according to Thomas.

Thomas is also a co-creator of "Party Down", a cult-hit comedy about struggling Hollywood types who worked as caterers. Talk of a reunion movie has been making the rounds for years. In March, Thomas told The Huffington Post the script for the "Party Down" movie was still in the works.

"With Martin and Ryan involved -- not to mention Kristen, Rico, Jason and Darran -- there are moments where our set also feels like a trial run for a 'Party Down' reunion," Thomas wrote.
