Never paid attention to this until today but the Huxtables never had a....

This was highlighted in today's season 7 episode when the carribean guy came to cook in their kitchen and asked where the microwave was and Cliff said

"we don't have one"

Knowing them, that's probably what they thought. I don't know. Everyone that I knew had a microwave. I remember getting one in the mid 1970's. It was a big thing at the time.

My mom said she didn't know anyone who had one in the 60's or 70's LOL

We got ours around 1975 or 1976. I don't know how much it cost. I know it was a big deal. I don't think I could live without one nowadays. lol

I would never cook with a microwave. I use the oven, stove or grill. And if I want tea, I use the kettle on the stove. I have a coffee pot for coffee, too. It's not like I want a microwave. I truly would never even use it if someone got one for me.

I would never use a microwave. I don't consider that cooking. It's just heating. I guess the Huxtables felt the same way!

That kitchen looks like the same set that was used for Family Ties. The Huxtable fireplace looks like where the Keaton's had their stove.

I tried putting frozen nuggets in the microwave last night and that was the wrong MOVE lol\


I won't do that again, it's the oven for now on LOL
