I AM THE GRASS by Dee Mullins
When I was about 7 years old my parents would play these albums and I would hear this song that had me fascinated with the lyrics. It's about grass observing people walking on it and promising revenge. It starts out, " There's a big foot stepping in my face " The guy was probably on drugs when he wrote it. It was about the time when I saw that old Outer Limits episode where those tumbleweeds and rocks attacked Eddie Albert and the first time I ever saw walking sticks and walking leaf insects. I remember thinking WTF ? Is everything alive ? For over 40 years I had that tune and a couple of lines to that song in my head but could never find the title until today. The version I remember was sung by someone else,it was real creepy sounding. If anyone can find another singer that did this song, let me know. I don't know why it's never played, it's not a bad song. |

^^^ I actually have a similar story. Back in early 2004, the CMT station did their documentary series at the time named Inside Fame on Brad Paisley and at one point an early clip of Brad singing was shown and what I believe that I heard him sing right then was this line: "I moved out west with dreams as big as a wide open place." When I heard that come from him, I was like, "I have not heard that song in years!" My only problem is that I do not know the name of the song and I most definitely do not know who sings it. All that I remember is that it was a male who sang the song originally and sadly, what I heard Brad sing there is the only lyric of the song that I can remember. The way that he sang it is what made me remember it, but I can't remember the song name or who sang it first.
![]() God bless you and Brad always!!! ![]() Holly P.S. I want to say that I was like 7 or 8 years old when I first heard the song and that was back in the late 80s and early 90s. If anyone here knows the name of the song with that lyric in it or who it is that sings the song, I would so appreciate it if you would tell me about it.

Start at the 22:16 mark of this clip to hear the song that I am wondering about. This clip was only recently uploaded which is why it wasn't here sooner. Who the heck did the song first and what is the name of it???
God bless you always!!! Holly |
