Thought Isn't it creepy how recent events mirror history?

History repeats itself. In the early 90's, Susan Smith claimed a man forced her out of her car at gunpoint at a red light, hijacked her car, and drove her car into the lake, drowning her two young children. She pretended to cry over their deaths, and even went so far to have the cops sketch a non existant Black male suspect. Even as a child, I thought this was fishy. I remembered thinking,"Wouldn't a mother take her kids out of the car instead of letting a stranger drive off with them? The detectives believed her at first, until one detective pointed out, that Susan would most likely not have stopped at that particular stoplight she claimed the man stole the car, as that light was usually perpetually green. She broke down and confessed she lied about the man stealing the car and killing them, and that she is the one who killed them, because her boyfriend did not like kids. She is still in prison.

Casey Anthony, in 2008, claimed her 2 year old daughter was missing, yet was seen having fun at patties, rather than looking actively for her daughter unlike any responsible mother of a toddler would be doing. It was widely speculated that Caylee's birth was unplanned, and Casey, who was 22 when Caylee was born, resented Caylee dampering her party life. Caylee's body was found locked in a trunk. Casey claimed she did not kill her child. 3 years later after a lenghty trial, the jury found her not guilty. A judge presiding over her case said he petsonally thought there was enough evidence to convict her, and thought the jury were idiots who made a huge mistake, and felt Casey should have bedn convicted and put in prison.

I would put this in the "Unsolved Mysteries" section, but because it's just a comment I'll put it here. Your thread reminds me of a story on unsolved mysteries where a woman, who was trying to get her husband to bulk up, gave him a sports drink at work. Only it wasn't a sports drink, it was I think drain cleaner or something you keep under the sink that doesn't belong in your stomach. He almost died because of it. She also lied and tried to make everyone think that a stranger threatened to kidnap her young son. The police were suspicious of her and asked to do a polygraph. She agreed to do it, but on the day she was to do it, she ran took off with her son. I think she poisoned her husband for his life insurance but made the police think it was someone else.

I just watched an interview with Susan Smith on Youtube before she confessed she killed her sons, and it was clear that she was laughing and smiling while" pleading" for the "carjacker" to "return" her sons to her. Really creepy.

I can not fathom how people can commit crimes and feel comfortable. I would be a nervous wreck if I killed a squirrel. I almost ran over one and felt awful. I missed.

Casey was 19 when Caylee was born. She was 22 when Caylee went missing.

Caylee's remains were found in a swamp, not a trunk.
