YAY! I told you Bebe rocks! No, she isn't in Chicago right now. The last thing she was in was Everett Beekin which was off-Broadway and was a straight play. (I was supposed to see it, but my stupid day trips always get cancelled for one stupid reason or another!)
She was first in Chicago in 1996 (won the Tony in 1997!). She came back for a few months in 2001, then did Fosse. Oh, I ADORE Bebe as Lola! I played Lola in a musical revue and got to sing "What Ever Lola Wants, Lola Gets". It's SO FUN!! Let's see... other songs you could download. Try searching these: From Chicago: "I Know a Girl" "I Can't Do It Alone" "Velma Takes a Stand" "Cell Block Tango" "Nowadays" "My Own Best Friend" "Class" From Damn Yankees: "A Little Brains, A Little Talent" (<---love this song!) "Two Lost Souls" "Who's Got the Pain?" From My Favorite Broadway: "Brass Band" (From Sweet Charity) From the NBC Christmas CD: "It's Cold Outside" (w/ John Lithgow!) If you can't find any of them, I'll try hard to make you a wav... I don't know how to make MP3's though?! YAY FOR BEBE! :-D ~B |

I don't envy her by any means... I just admire all her talent. I aspire to reach her level of expertise, but I have enough confidence in my potential to not envy her. LOL My goal is to be on the stage. Eventually doing TV and films would be a fun experience, but my life wouldn't be over if it never happened. I just want to be on a stage the rest of my life... if I wasn't, I wouldn't feel fulfilled! :-D
I think it would be really cool for her to do like a musical theatre workshop and to attend it... imagine how much fun that would be?! LOL She truly is a triple threat, too... she's excelled in all three! (Many can barely be considered a triple threat, but she really is!) I admire that a lot, having studied in all three fields myself! I hope she does another musical soon! I check Playbill Online nearly every day, so if I hear anything, I'll let ya all know! :-D BTW, Christine -- you know that isn't Bebe singing "Roxie Hart", right? That's Ann Reinking (unless you downloading the London recording... that would be Ruthie Henshall!) ~B |

hey guys, yeah i agree with ya guys about bebe newirth having an exelllent voice she did an excellent job of singing sometimes when i heard her sing in cheers, that is the only time i have really had the chance to achully hear her sing though, but she has a very nice voice,i heard her sing about 2 or 3 times singing in cheers but thats it,allthough i would have liked to hear her sing in some musicals to as well, but since i,m never going to be able to go to browdway or whereever she is singing unless i get rich or win a trip somewhere or if she comes to where i live, man i wish, but if she has some cds somwhere?maybe i could get some copys of her cds or what is that site where you can download her mp3s do you know where it is,i REALLY NEED TO KNOW,i want to download it though,so if you could give the address i would really apreaciaie it alot, thanks LONG LIVE LILITH

When I was younger I did plays and stuff at school and it didnt take me long to realise I have no acting, singing or dancing talents! This is prob. why I find people like bebe and some of u guys fascinating. I havent abandoned thoughts of the stage tho', now I concentrate on writing and Id love to be a director. The older I get the more embarassed I get about doing stuff in front of people anyway! Well there u go...a little bit about me ;-)
luv jay xxx ps. I hate morpheus - its SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO slooooowwwwwwww............zzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZ............ |

I'm just the opposite, Jay! Being on a stage and performing is my escape. I'm very insecure about myself, and pretending to be other people is like a release... it's therapeutic. I actually am a shy and insecure person in real life. I can put on a good act if I don't feel too intimidated, and no one believes that I'm 'shy', but the real 'me' rarely shows unless I'm really comfortable with someone. (That real me is extremely hyper and nearly manic, LOL!) When I'm on a stage, that doesn't matter because I'm not really 'me' for the time being. My mother always asks me if I ever realize in REAL life that I'm actually NOT on a stage. What was it my director once said... it's hard for musical theatre freaks (that's his pet name for me and my friend) to act 'real'... it's like a foreign language.
Anyhoo... stick to your writing! You can still partake in the wonderful world of theatre without being on the stage... behind the scenes is just as important, if not more! ![]() ~B |

Thanx for the reply and also for the list of songs to download!! The xmas song w/john lithgow is great but i like cell block tango best. Just a shame ill neva get to see the broadway version (tho id love to see it in london)
Odd thing is im not shy when it comes to being with my mates, sometimes i think i scare people a little - its just the idea of being 'up there' u know. Im kinda hoping going to uni will steer me onto some kind of career path...im just floating about at the mo. I have started my first novel tho, im sure itll be flying off the shelves in a few years time. Luv jay xxx |

yoh hey guys,i LOVE theartre to,so i just have to respond about the subject and i know that some people do drama to escape,i do,i agree that it is a very nice way to escape and it is very thearputic and relexing aside from that to,and it also atleast for me helps me with my ego,not to turn into some self centered person, but to also help, even though i am myself a fairly outgoing and friendly and hyper person though, but it helps people show there true selfs by pretending to be someone that they are not,i for me personally i enjoy using charatristics and differant personallitys of myself that i won,t normally get to use and to use those charactiiscs and personalliy trate through the characters that i play or write about and i am guessing it is the same for most or some people as well, but that is just me,but i do think that if you love what you do it will bring up your self confindence alot even if you have alot, and what i love most is the charactization part it is really sooooooooooooooooooo much fun,and i like making up characters or getting into the role,it,s fun to pretend and get all these charcaters out and alive, meaning i LOVE being someone that i,m not,i find real life is usually very boring and allways doing it by practicing or writing or acting it whichever comes to mind, and i guess i love acting though because i LOVE to perform for people and i like to show off,are these any of your reasons,i,m sure that we all have are own reasons for it,but what i really love the most is that it is SUCH FUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN,i can definitlly understand that,i would like to get involved with musical theatre in someway as well,i think that i would like to direct or write and act and my very biggest love is costumes,I LOVE COSTUMES,allthough unfortunilly i am not as talented as you all you people since i can only act,i am a terrible singer and dancer, can you make it in browadway or musical theatre with just acting,do you have to know alot about all three in order to be to write or direct one,or even the costumes i would think that you might have to know something about it,allthough i am interested in getting involved with film and tv more,i would like to do some thearte and musical theartre as well just to give myself more successful and knowlageable and it might give me more perspective or it as well, but i am hoping to make it as a costume designer as well, unfortunitlly canada does not have a very good entertainment bussniess as a whole and alot of are theatre sucks i am sorry to say poor canada, thats why i would like to be able to go to new york or my dream BOSTON,but what is the success rate in new york or boston for musical theatre,i really would like to be a part of it,and to jay i have done some behind the scenes work and it is just as importent,it is achully alot of fun as well to and they allways need us backstage people as well, but if that is what you are interested in of course, but i hope you all make it really big in the areas that you are interested in and persueing,my biggest dream is DEFINITLLY to create a show like cheers and another dream of mine which probably won,t ever happen would be to play diane chambers in a cheers skit or something, that would be really fun, keep your hopes up and be open minded somewhere along the line your big break wil happen and i wish you all the best of luck thanks lol
