Heart John Stamos on His Relationship w/ Lori Loughlin: "She's The One That Got Away"

John Stamos: Lori Loughlin "Could Be The One That Got Away"
6/13/13

Could Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky have been real life husband and wife?

Actor John Stamos joined Abby Huntsman Thursday and said that his former "Full House" co-star Lori Loughlin may be "the one that got away."

"We were friends for a while, we started out on the soaps together, and we did date; we went out on a date to Disneyland before we were both married. We were 18 and 19 years old.

We did have some off times, and no disrespect to her family and her husband now, I will say that she could be the one that got away. She's one of my dearest friends and that's good enough.
"

Cool

This certainly explains why they had such good on-screen chemistry on Full House!

I dont blame John in the least. I mean he married Rebecca Romijn so its not like he didnt do well for himself but I could see why he was attracted to Lori. She was hot on Full House and still is.

I don't believe in the one that got away. If it was really meant to be, they would still be together. It ended for a reason, even if he doesn'r know why.

Wow, I didn't know that they dated but they sure made a cute couple! I'm glad they are still close friends!

Yup, I read in an old Soap Opera Digest interview that they dated circa 1982-83 when both were on ABC soaps - she was on The Edge of Night and he was on General Hospital. It must have been tough to maintain a long distance romance as those shows taped on separate coasts - EON in NYC and GH in LA. Even though things didn't work out with them romantically, I'm glad they are still good friends.

I think I remember reading somewhere that John thought their timing was off.

Here's a promo of Lori Loughlin as Jody Travis on The Edge of Night, a character she played from 1980-1983. She also at one time had a relationship with her co-star, Mark Arnold, who is the dance instructor in this clip (the dark-haired guy in the striped shirt):

Lori Loughlin Responds to John Stamos Calling Her "The One That Got Away"
Oct 22, 2013
by Sadie Gennis

Could Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky have been married in real life?

John Stamos recently revealed that he dated his "Full House" co-star Lori Loughlin before they played husband and wife on the sitcom, saying that "she could be the one that got away."

When asked whether the feelings were mutual, the now-married Loughlin told E! News, "Oh my goodness. Well, we'll never know, right? I will always love John, always."

Unfortunately, it doesn't sound like there's any hope to see a Jesse and Becky reunion onscreen either. "I don't think that there are any plans for a movie," Loughlin said.

"If it were a really good script and a great project, but sometimes I think that it's better off to leave those TV shows as they were and not do reunion shows."

Since they knew each other before Full House, I am guessing that maybe he recommended that she play Becky on the show!

God bless you and them always!!!

Holly

P.S. I love watching them kiss before the preacher told them to when they got married on the show!
