Firstly, apologies if this has been brought up before.
So, I have heard people complaining about DVDs being cut, etc. I purchased the complete series set by Bridge Entertainment and I think all of the episodes on it are uncut as scenes that people have mentioned are missing are present on these discs from BE. Scenes such as the two Beckys dancing at the end of Season 8: Episode 1 and Roseanne singing at the end of Season 8's Christmas episode are definitely featured here. However, BE didn't include any extras, also some episodes have one or two video problems. The Pilot episode is definitely the original as it has a different logo, too! I do have Anchor Bay's releases of Seasons 1, 5 and 8 and I did notice definite cuts in Seasons 1 and 8, particularly the ones mentioned above. Since I'm someone who likes extras, I've also purchased AB's releases of Seasons 2 and 3 and also the Region 1 DVDs of Seasons 4-9 from AB. If anyone can tell me what these other AB releases are like, I'd much appreciate it. Also, are the Mill Creek DVDs worth picking up? |

Its a bit unclear which actual sets you have, and which regions.
Anchor Bay's season 1 set (both US and UK release) had syndicated prints, while seasons 8 and 9 had music edits (cant confirm if they were released in the UK by anchor bay). The difference with the Mill Creek sets are that season 1 is near-unedited, with a single scene from "Workin Overtime" being shortened; seasons 8 and 9 supposedly still suffer from the missing end tag scenes, but other music may be reinstated. The german complete box set feature all original music in seasons 8 and 9 including end tags, but onscreen captions are in german (with english audio track). The short film clip in the end of "Ballroom Blitz" (from some old movie with Marilyn Monroe?) is not present on the german copy, but Roseanne's spoof of it IS there. Season 1 is unedited in Germany, but does not include the extended pilot episode found on the Mill Creek set. |

Thanks for replying.
I have Bridge Entertainments release of Seasons 1-9 (Region 2), Anchor Bays Region 2 releases of Seasons 1, 5 and 8 and have also purchased Seasons 2 and 3 from them but haven't seen them yet. I also purchased the Region 1 DVD boxsets of Seasons 4-9 from Anchor Bay/Starz, but haven't seen them yet. Are the Mill Creek boxsets worth picking up, are there any new extras on them, etc.? |

They omitted some of the extras?!?! That's terrible.
I think I'll stick with my Anchor Bay and Bridge Entertainment releases and not upgrade to the Mill Creek ones. |

They removed the introductory speeches Roseanne recorded for a few season 1 eps + the launch party clips from when season 1 first came out on dvd (some interviews with the cast in a bowling alley).

I thought they would have added some new additional extras, but I guess not.
Did any of you guys purchase the Bridge Entertainment DVDs? I'm quite happy with them. Is there any particular scenes you guys can think of that Anchor Bay deleted? I just want to recheck my BE DVDs to check that they're all there. |
