Default Peter Boyle died during the last season.....

The episode that ELR did not have to do but would have if their show lasted another year, the Frank is Dead episode.

I have always wondered how they would have done that. How would Frank die? Over consumption? Had a heart attack while making love to his wife? I think this would have been an interesting episode. Maybe Marie having a "damn, damn, damn" moment and while she breaks down. It could have been that way, with the wake at Frank and Marie's house with Marie cracking jokes about how much of an oaf Frank was in life while everyone else was sad, and then she breaks down in tears.

I would think these episodes would be a pain to write for the writing staff, they had to drop whatever plans they were having and go back to the drawing board, plus burying off a long time and beloved cast member on a sitcom.

Any comments?

IMO, I'm glad they didn't have Frank die. That would have been too sad - for me anyway. I'm glad they quit when they did.

Were other episodes supposed to happen after the one when Raymond has surgery done that he almost doesn't wake up from? Because from what I understand, that was the final episode and Frank is most definitely in that episode because he is the reason why Marie finds out about Raymond's close call.

God bless you always!!!
