You have to admire Natalie Schafer in the gold mine episode, getting herself completely soaked and submerging her head underwater when the raft sinks. She easily could have chosen to use a stunt double, and I admire her professionalism for doing that scene.

I once heard an interview with one of the cast, maybe it was Russell Johnson, who said that the water they used to fill the "lagoon" was ice cold. He spoke admiringly of Natalie Shaeffer always being game enough to plunge into that cold water with the rest of the cast, even well into her 60's.

In interviews I've seen with the cast they always remark what good sport Natalie was in terms of doing the physical gags, including ones in the water!

Although I noticed in the episode about the radioactive vegetables, when she is running around the hut in a frenzy and then runs out and jumps on the table and spins around you can clearly see it's not her, but a stunt double.
