Humphrey Bogart was the star. Alan Hale the comic relief. A U-boat ships his ship. The crew swims to a life raft and after 11 days adrift, they are rescued. While ashore waiting for another ship, Alan is tracked down by his wife, angry he hasn't called. She gives him a summons. He tears it up as he heads back to sea, saying "them Liberty Ships are well-named." But look at him in this skipper-style hat. Remind you of anyone? |
