Exclusive: "Community's" Danny Pudi Nabs Role in "Hot in Cleveland's" Live Episode

Danny Pudi is making a pit stop in "Cleveland" during his "Community" hiatus.

The actor has signed on to guest-star in "Hot in Cleveland‘s" upcoming live outing, TVLine has learned exclusively.

According to sources, Pudi will play a volunteer at a senior center. We hear he’s a young many in the neighborhood with a dark, intimidating side you don’t usually see from the affable actor.

The episode, which is set to air Wednesday, June 19 at 10/9c, will also feature appearances by William Shatner and "The Office‘s" Brian Baumgartner.

The most notable thing about this upcoming live episode is that it will be the second time this decade that Betty White has done a scripted show live. The first being her hosting of Saturday Night Live in 2010 when she was 88 years old, becoming the oldest person to host the program. It was wildly popular and drew in the highest ratings the show had seen in a while. Betty is now 91 and I think it's remarkable that she's doing this.

"Hot in Cleveland" is welcoming another famous face for its live episode: Shirley Jones!

The live episode picks up with Joy (Jane Leeves) uncovering the illegal and dangerous activities that Elka (Betty White) and Mamie (Georgia Engel) have been up to all season — it involves mobsters, mistaken identities and tons of guest stars!

Will Melanie (Valerie Bertinelli), Victoria (Wendie Malick) and Joy be able to help?

Jones, who is best known for playing the matriarch on "The Partridge Family", will play Sophie, the mother of fellow guest star William Shatner's character.

As previously announced, "Community's" Danny Pudi and "The Office's" Brian Baumgartner will also guest-star on the live episode.

"Hot in Cleveland's" live episode airs Wednesday, June 19 at 10/9c on TV Land.

If this episode wasn't must-see before, it sure is now!!

I wish they would bring Gavin MacLeod on for an episode, as all the other surviving cast members of TMTMS have been on the show. They could also bring on Gavin's Love Boat co-horts!!!

I can't wait to see this episode...It's gonna be huge! And I agree with Monika about Gavin. They surely should have him.

Or more of Jane's Frasier costars, but they're mostly busy these days.
