Default "The Lucy Show" Currently on Me-TV

It started this week with episode #1. If you're an early bird, it's on weekday mornings at 6 AM.

Check here to see if there is an affiliate in your area:

Keep in mind that, even if there is a station in your area, it may not be carried by your cable company. But you can buy a digital TV antenna for about 40 bucks and watch it that way (the new old-fashioned way).

Where I am, the 6 AM to 8 AM is blocked out with religious programming so I don't get to see it.

I feel your pain. 7am to 8am EDT here is blocked out for local news (like we can't see that on four other channels)

That is unfortunate for those who don't have the show on DVD. I does come on in my area, though. I'm already up at that hour but I'm working.

too bad they are using the same package Nick at Nite used--the old CBS Daytime prints. But at least the show is playing...so that's something. I have the DVDs anyway

Yeah -- for one thing, the kaliedoscope opening doesn't belong on there, and I wish the original were used instead. As you said though, good to have the series being aired, and I hope the show garners some new fans.

Default Lucy Show

Didn't they used a puppet on strings that looked like Lucy as the opening?

The Lucy Show ends its current run on MeTV on Friday, August 30 with "Lucy Is a Meter Maid." I Love Lucy returns on Monday, September 2 (in the 7:30 AM time slot). This isn't a surprise as it was advertised from the beginning that The Lucy Show was being added just for the summer while I Love Lucy was on hiatus. This is from the MeTV website:

"Taking a well-deserved break before they return to the Me-TV line-up are 'The Odd Couple,' 'The Lucy Show' and 'That Girl.' And the network says a fond farewell to 'Bewitched' and 'I Dream of Jeannie,' as both shows have ended their run on Me-TV." http://metvnetwork.com/fallforme2013.php

The question is, how long of a break before they bring back The Lucy Show? And will they pick up where they left off (early third season), or start at the beginning again?

I live in Los Angeles, and I Love Lucy already airs on Ch. 11 and Ch. 13 here (Ch. 11 & 13 are sister stations). I believe they hold the contract on airing I Love Lucy because Me-Tv has never aired I Love Lucy here. They air spots advertising I Love Lucy, but it has always been The Lucy Show that airs. Very confusing... Now, unless 11 & 13 have decided to stop airing I Love Lucy in the fall, that is quite possible, as they seem to prefer to air TMZ, The Office and talk shows instead of Lucy now.

MeTV, as you probably are aware, utilizes substitute programs when they can't air something in a particular market (exclusivity problem). Note that in the promos they note availability on "most" MeTV stations, not all. For example, at times where I'm at:

The Streets of San Francisco has substituted for Hawaii Five-O
Family Affair has substituted for My Three Sons
Get Smart has substituted for Hogan's Heroes

Some substitutes were generally not available at all to most MeTV viewers -- it just depended on what the local competition had locked up.

So hopefully you'll still be watching The Lucy Show.
