I wish there were a few lost seasons. See I don't have cable, and can't get nothing over the air here, I tried a converter box and a few different antennas, but it keeps saying no signal.
So I have pretty much just been watching LITB when I am not on the internet. (Netflix) I hate to say, but I am finely starting to get sick of it. especially when I'm in the end of season 4, and seasons 5 and 6, the later ones are not as cute by a long shot. 5 and 6 is more like "leave it to Wally" I wonder if a new TV would help any. I just have a real old one that's not digital ready, and needs a converter box, but like I said , I can't get nothing. I think I read that sometimes it's the tuner. You'd think I should at least be able to get 1 station. |

Antennaweb.org says,
http://www.antennaweb.org/Stations.a...Lon=-80.733475 Up to 3 channels from 1 over-the-air stations may be received at this location. I would be real happy with that. At least I could watch the news. Says I need this Antenna, I can't put it on the roof, but this is a Garage apt, So I can put it on the porch, it will be 1 story up. I never did try an outside antenna. |

I am probably one of the few who like the later (1960-1963) episodes more than the earlier ones. Matters do seem a little more up to date in them and with their older ages, both Wally and Beaver are given a little more leeway by the parents. In seems in those episodes, there are more references to personalities of that period (Broderick Crawford, Cassius Clay, Jack Paar, etc.). While that may actually date those shows and make younger viewers say "who?", it is refreshing for me to hear those names again and think the characters on LITB knew of them, too.
In terms of "Lost Episodes", the closest I can think of is the pilot of LITB that had different actors playing some of the parts. Also, since this series has gone on Me-TV, it appears that the episodes are not as edited as they were on other cable channels or even in syndication on over-the-air TV some years ago. In that respect, current viewers may see a scene or or a portion of a scene that had been cut or othewise shortened. |

Yeah, I did see the pilot.
I wonder if the ones on Netflix are full length, or if they are edited? |

Yeah, I just got done watching the one in season 5 where Wally was going to stay home and not go to the summer cabin they always go to. It actually was a pretty good one.
The one where Wally plays tennis with the older woman to make her boyfriend jealous was good too. "Wally Goes Steady" wasn't bad either. About the young married couple that wally dates the sister. He sees that marriage and going steady is "for the birds". "Wally's Car" wasn't bad, where he buys that old wreck, and sells parts off it. Then Ward arranges to sell it to a junk yard and the junk yard owner got mad cause the boys striped it. Then wally pays him $15.00 IIRC to tow it out of there, like a big shot. In the "The Yard Birds",where the boys clean the yard ,and Pay Eddie and Lumpy to take the trash to the dump, but they dump it in a vacant lot and the Owner tracks them down. "A Night in the Woods" where Eddie and Lumpy try to scare the boys out of the woods, and Eddie gets stuck over a cliff. Then He acts like a Big shot when they get him up, and the Park ranger chews him out.....................LOL. So I guess season 5 and 6 are pretty good too. I like the one in season 6 where Wally goes out with that girl from the movie box office, and she turns out to be a big bar fly. |

I love all the seasons equally, I like that they focused some of the episodes on Wally, some of my favorite episodes are ones that Beaver isn't the center of- like the episode where Wally and Eddie work for the Dairy, and when Wally and Eddie park cars.

I really liked Jerry's funny reactions to situations in the later seasons, 5 and 6. The Beaver has some what to this day I believed are unscripted lines. I have posted about scenes believed to be add-libbed, In contrast, seasons 1 and 2 seem to be more scripted and less natural. More formal. In terms of dress, mannerisms, story lines. I also really like Season 3, because that's when I think you got into some of the less-structured story lines. And you had so many classic Larry Mondello scenes and those with his Mother that are hysterical to watch! I would be tempted to rate the seasons in reverse order for those I like the best: 6 5 4 3 2 1. Jack |
