Bill Pertwee from Dad's Army has died.
Bill Pertwee,who played the Air Raid Warden Hodges in the British television sitcom Dad's Army has died at his home in Surrey near London,aged 86. The show ran for nine series between 1968 and 1977 and was an attempt to make comedy out of the war years,though some may say it looked back on those times with rose tinted spectacles. Pertwee leaves three surviving members of the original cast,the vicar played by Frank Williams,Ian Lavender who played the role of Pike,and Pamela Cundell who as Mrs. Fox married Corporal Jones in the last episode of the series.http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news...-1226652029146
