This may be a little bit down in the weeds, but in case anyone is interested, The Bio Network is airing a special at noon today called "Inside Story: Scarface" profiling the various challenges experienced faced during the making of the movie. You may recall Scarface as the movie Tammy Lynn Leppert was acting in when she had a breakdown, which led to further problems. I've never seen the movie as I'm not a fan of action films, but this specials sounds pretty interesting. It airs at noon Eastern time. One thing I do know is that the city of Miami protested the movie being made there as they felt it portrayed the city in a negative light and felt it would affect their tourism.
By the by, speaking about Tammy Lynn Leppert, I just encountered her wiki article and it states that Unsolved Mysteries did TWO segments featuring her. Is this just another wiki error? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tammy_Lynn_Leppert |

I've never seen the movie either.
They probably won't mention it straight out, but I wonder if this program will give away any little clues, that we would pick up on, as to what was happening behind the scenes that could have affected Tammy so badly. |

I read that the body count in this movie was something like 42. Sounds like a very gory movie. I certainly can understand why that would affect someone. Tammy was reportedly afraid of blood, so it would make sense that she would react to it.

Tammy is actually in a very violent scene, though her character doesn't witness any of it. Basically, one man is supposed to be a lookout for Al Pacino's character as he goes into a hotel to make a drug deal and things go very sour. The lookout becomes distracted by Tammy (and I think other beautiful women walking by) and even puts his arms around her before she walks away. The scene cuts away from the violence in the hotel to the distracted man in the lookout car a couple of times.

Cheap plug alert! I recently published a list on Listverse featuring Tammy's story:
http://listverse.com/2013/05/24/10-e...ved-mysteries/ Tammy's entry features a picture of her scene in "Scarface". She never even faces the camera in the film and since she's essentially just an extra, I don't believe she received any credit for her very brief role. I've always wondered if her role might have been a bit bigger if she hadn't had her breakdown and left the shoot. |
