Makes you wonder why he just didn't stay on all in the family?

Mother Jefferson got way too much screen time in my opinion. Sometimes she made me laugh. But it wasn't too often.

I wonder how All in the Family would have played out if Lionel bought the Jefferson house for his self and for Jenny.

They should have just moved Mother Jefferson in the Apt since she was seen so much

And Lionel could have stayed on AITF since it was George and Louise who was the main stars.

That actually would have made a lot more sense seeing as how Lionel was hardly ever on the show. But I think Louise would have hated Mother Jefferson living with them!

Yes, Lionel did have more screen time on All in the Family, and I think AITF would have been a lot better if Lionel took over the Jefferson house instead of Mike and Gloria.

Yep, it would have been better if Lionel stayed on All in the Family moving into the Jefferson house with Jenny.
George and Weezy could have given the extra room in the apartment to Mother Jefferson. That would have made a lot more sense.
Plus, the Lionel character was much more fun and entertaining on All in the Family, especially when he was sparring with Archie.
