Default Martina McBride = Complete Class Act

Tonight I went to my 12th Martina McBride concert. After trying for years, I finally won the meet & greet pass from her fan club. All of the other people in the meet & greet line were not fan club members; they probably obtained their passes from the casino in which the concert was held. Martina's security guard pretty much treated me like I was royalty since I was the only fan club member there. He specifically came over to introduce himself, and had me stand in a separate section of the room while all of the other people were only allowed to get a photo taken with her. I was also allowed to get a photo signed.

I asked Martina if she received my song request on Twitter (last Fall at a concert she honored a Twitter song request of mine). She said no, sometimes the tweets do not get through to her. I told her my request and said I know it's a long shot. She said unfortunately, they haven't played that song in years, and that it would send her band into a tizzy, lol. Off the top of my head, I came up with another rare song to request. She said, "We can probably do that one."

During the middle of the show, she stated that she had met a fan club member named Michael before the show, and she then proceeded to try and find me in the audience, lol. She said that I requested a song they haven't played in a while, but that she wanted to do it for me. She then proceeded to sing the song (and completely nailed it!). I don't think there are too many artists out there who care that much about their fans that they would alter their set list just to accomodate the request of one fan. Martina is truly the greatest!!!

Thumbs up

That's awesome. When I visited my friend Brenda in California back in the summer of 2007, we saw Martina McBride's concert at the Mid-California State Fair (Waking Up Laughing had just come out). It was a great show and we had a lot of fun. I'm glad you had this experience, Michael.

That's wonderful Michael! Events like that restore my faith in humanity. You always hear about the terrible things celebrities do, it's refreshing to hear something nice.

Thanks! I agree, it's great when you can actually hear about something nice that a celebrity has done.

I love Martina and think she is wonderful. It doesn't surprise me at all that she was so kind to you!
