Steve Urkel standing up to the bully willly but not the bully from season 1

Steve Urkel seemed to stand up to the bully willy in the second season he slapped him in the face with boxing gloves and even insults him without fear he even takes a beating in the boxing ring, but why diden't steve show that much courage against that big tall bully that took his lunch money everyday after school in season 1 eddie had to save the day in the episode.

Well Urkel was defending Laura's honor in s2 where as he was just protecting himself in s1. Plus Steve probably gained some confidence in a year that he didn't have in s1.

Plus steve was a midget in season 1 and innocent he never gets angry only offended that tall guy stealing his lunch money looked old enough to be his father lol
