Default An apology

I wish to apologize to any individuals who may have been put off by any of my responses to their comments on the boards. I have been considering taking time off while things cool down and may come back at a later date. This board posting has lost its fun for me. I feel like I have stepped on two many toes, rubbed some of feelings the wrong way, and have generally wasted people's time.
I have a very distinct feeling that some of the friends I have made here I won't see back, and I admit it has been my fault. I have never intended to hurt anyone, but to have fun and have an
ongoing discussion about the greatest show on television. I realize there is a very broad audience out here with different age groups and walks of life, and I do apologize if I have seemed less than sympathetic or understanding. At a later time I should come back, hopefully when they decide to air the show again, and hopefully all will be forgotten and forgiven.

Okay. All is forgotten and forgiven.

So what's better? Stuffing or mashed potatoes? Let's take a poll.

Two votes for mashed potatoes!! I was thinking of something creative about mashed potatoes, and melted butter... and another holiday favorite, cherry pie... But since Thanksgiving was months ago, let's talk about Mardi Gras...

As much as I LOVE mashed potatoes, I gotta go with the stuffing. We always make a huge thing of stuffing at Christmas and Thanksgiving and it is always the first thing gone. The recipe has been passed down for generations in our family. It's the best

Default Re: to meat or not to meat?

InpectorExstead has come up with a valid point for discussion:
To eat meat or NOT to eat meat? Should we go with album "Meat Is Murder" by the Smiths, or "Eat 'em and Smile" by David Lee Roth? Better role model: anti-fur vegan Morrissey formerly of the Smiths or bow-hunting animal killer Ted "Bundy" Nugent? You know what, I think I'm seriously going to regret this topic, because people are going to have some very firm opinions, but they'll get lively, which is JUST the way we like it!!

OMG that's like, seriously wrong. Poor turkey's. I know, they may be ugly, but I mean, how would you feel if someone took a gun, shot you, and brought you to a meat slicing place and then someone bought you and ATE you?!? I don't think I'd like it that much.

Sooooooo right on toots !

I confess, turkeys sure are tasty, but BOYYYY, the whole meat industry is bloody. I remember years ago seeing a turkey in someone's back yard, it just looked so... MAJESTIC. It seemed so kind, so gentle, you just had to feel so sorry for it when November rolled around. Did you know that originally, the TURKEY
was going to be the official emblem of the country when America was founded? It of course lost out to the bald eagle. And the Puritan forefathers (the pilgrims) did NOT traditionally eat turkeys at the first Thanksgiving meal, they actually ate EEL!!
EAT MEAT IF YOU WANT, BUT FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE MEAT INDUSTRY!!!! IT AIN'T PRETTY!!!!

Ok, if the Turkey was the symbol for America, I'd swim to England before I'd live here.

I believe Ben Franklin wanted the turkey to be our national bird, but all of the other guys wanted the bald eagle. He said that the turkey was a nobler bird, and that the eagle was mean and stole food that other animals had already caught.
