TV NBC Cancels "Whitney"

NBC Cancels "Whitney"
by NELLIE ANDREEVA
Thursday May 9, 2013

NBC has canceled "Whitney".

"Whitney" has been a lightning rod since its launch, drawing polarizing reactions and getting mostly panned by critics. It started off OK in the ratings last season but gradually fizzled.

It returned late last fall and did decent business on Wednesday but its long-term prospects remained dim.

I'm probably the only one who is sad to see this show go. I love Whitney Cummings and I thought the cast had really good chemisty. Maybe Whitney will focus more of her energy towards 2 Broke Girls now.

Nope, I'm also disappointed to see the show go. I enjoyed season one, but I thought it greatly improved in season two. I also love Whitney Cummings, and it's such a shame that she's had two shows cancelled now within a few months of each other.

I was a fan of the show too. I thought she & Chris D'Elia had some very funny scenes & dialogue.

My dad will be disappointed. He thinks Whitney is a hottie.

Focus on her other show, 2 Broke Girls; get another show on Comedy Central, do more stand up.

I hope Whitney does another stand-up DVD. Her first one is hilarious, which is pretty much the show I got to see live in 2010. I also met her after the show, which was great. She is far too talented to not be working.
