I Love L.A. - Randy Newman

Funny thing about that song, when people hear it, they think he is singing about how great Los Angeles is (Newman is an L.A. native). But actually, he was being sarcastic. He was really singing about the city's contradictions. For every mention of the city's idyllic setting, like its mountains and trees, Newman offsets it with a scene of those less fortunate, like a homeless man "down on his knees."

I had to add it!

Though the song is titled "Jerusalem"...It's actually about England.

This was the name for the city of St. Petersburg during the Soviet Russian years...which may happen again!
