Why not have the final season where fred and lamont get married
Why were the producers of this show thinking why couden't they just have lamont get married and the last episode have fred and donna get married as the series final.

Because the series wasn't supposed to end. Redd Foxx quit the show and it came to a halt. Big Mistake. It deserved a big finale.
