If Martin and Tisha did not like each other on the 5 year run on martin why come they did not just fire tisha campbell and hire another woman that looked like her to be martins wife ???

"Why come?" LOL. That's a new one.
I'm glad they didn't do that. As much as I loved Martin, most replaced characters are crappy. It's better that they ended the show when they did. |

They could have got Lisa Bonet from the cosby show to play Gina for the last season she looks like a spitting image of Tisha Campbel i must say.

Well, Tisha did guest star on Lisa's sitcom. Maybe Lisa could have returned the favor. LOL.
In all honesty, it would not have worked as this sitcom was not the type where you can replace a main character. It is too noticeable and would not set well with the audience. |

Tisha Campbell WAS Gina, plain and simple. Once Tisha walked out midway through production of "Martin's" fifth season in late 1996 (she had accused Martin Lawrence of sexual harassment, as well as physical and verbal abuse), "Martin's" days were definitely numbered; despite incredible ratings--Fox's Thursday night lineup (consisting of "Martin," "Living Single," and "New York Undercover") was holding its own fairly well against NBC's competing, and impregnable, "Must See TV" block--Fox ultimately cancelled the long-running sitcom in 1997 after five seasons and 132 episodes, partly (if not entirely) because of the bad blood that had emerged between Tisha and Martin.
