I'd like to note that I'm not 100% sure this was from UM, but here goes.
I recall a segment from UM (or a similar series) about a cult I believe they called "The Brotherhood". I want to say they were Christians and were heavily organized on college campuses...and long beards. I remember long beards. The story went like many others - young man gets involved with this new group, slowly becomes withdrawn from his family and ultimately disappears. I seem to remember there wasn't any real foul play about his disappearance outside of him falling completely out of touch with his family. In any event I look forward to any help and should this not be a UM segment and therefore off-topic, I apologize in advance. |

I don't think it was a UM segment but I'll look around and see what I can find. I did a quick google search and got the following info. The men in their group grow beards, they seem to be a christian based cult, and are known by a few names including The Brotherhood:
