Question Friggatriskaidekaphobia

I can hear JoJoJo now, "There goes Kitt again with the big words." Friggatriskaidekaphobia means fear of or superstition about Friday the13th or the number 13. Just so you won't think that I'm showing off, I'll be honest, I only learned of the word recently myself. What are y'alls thoughts about Friday the 13th or the number13? If you are superstitious about it, tell us to what degree. Any personal stories or stories you've heard, that are related to the day or the number?

Apparently the whole reason the number 13 gets such a bad rap is cos 13 was traditionally the number of witches in a coven. I don't know why specifically Friday 13th should be unlucky though.
I dunno if I believe in Friday 13th being unlucky. Bad stuff happens to me quite often - it doesn't need to be a Friday or the 13th of the month! I think people just expect bad things to happen on Friday 13th so if even the smallest little thing goes wrong for them on that day they will immediately blame it on the date.

Ok, don't anyone laugh at me, but I'm friggen petrified of the number 13. I don't know why, or how, I just am. On Friday the 13th I'm afraid to walk out of the house in fear I'll probably get shot, stabbed, or killed in any such way!

Cool

I'm definitely not a superstitious type, so I'm not scared of Friday the 13th or the number 13. My birthday has fallen on Friday the 13th a couple of times and nothing bad happened. I've had numerous tests in school over the years on Friday the 13th and I usually did quite well and if I did do poorly, then it was my own fault for not studying hard enough.

Friday the 13th is just another day to me, and 13 is just a number. The only thing that's ever happened to me on a Friday the 13th, is I broke a lamp, and that was probably 12 or 13 years ago. But I've broken plenty of other stuff on other days so...no big deal.

I am not superstisious at all. I not think that something bad is going to happen on friday 13. And if it does, I don't blame the DAY for something.

I'm not superstitious or anything, and I actually like the number 13. Contrary to popular belief, I tend to think 13 is good luck, well for me anyway because my birthday is the 13th of August, so that explains it.

Well...I'm not superstitious but I don't like the number 13 for some reason. I just don't...but Fridays that fall on the 13 don't freak me out or anything.

And it seems as if we'll just be a number off for a Friday the 13th this month, oh well. The only one this year will be in June. Odd because there's usually 2 or 3 a year.

I'm not superstitious about Friday the 13th. I think it was probably just some marketing ploy so that they can make "scary" made-for-TV movies.

I don't believe in that stuff.

I read somewhere once that the 13th used to be considered a lucky number, and through the years something transpired causing it to be supposedly unlucky. I wish I could remember where I read that, because it was an interesting article. hmmm

Nice word though, Kitt. I have a theory though, if I can't spell it I don't say it, so I think I'll just etch that one from my vocabulary

I don't balme you. It's one heck of a mouthful even if you can pronounce it. I know I can't.
