I am not saying beaver did not have any brains but the kid was always getting himself in trouble with his friends, family, school or he was getting yelled at by his father,Wally was the complete opposite he made good grades he was considered the perfect american teenager in the eyes of his parents, who do you think was smarter Beaver or Wally ?

Um, Wally was smarter - hands down. Beaver was as dumb as a post throughout the entire show.

Well Wally was definitely wiser! That's because as he said to Beaver "All the trouble you're getting into now I've already been in."

Wally was definitely smarter and wiser.
They both did "dumb" things when they were very young kids, but Wally grew out of it. Beaver (thanks to the writers) never really grew up. He was just about as naive in the last season as he was in the first season. Not about the same things, but Beaver was always gullible. Wally became more of a leader of his friends, and Beaver continued to be pretty much a follower for the most part. |

Wally always seemed to be wise beyond his years. He came off as very street smart, and could usually see through BS.

I can't imagine anyone thinking Beaver was smarter than Wally.
