Say if yoy had a 7 year old who had a niece or newphew who was like 20. Which would be in charge and have the seniority?
Just something funny I was wondering about, b/c it would sound so funny in a scenerio like where there's, say, a 20 year old girl who has a 5 year old uncle and someone tells the girl, "Would you mind babysitting your little uncle while I run to town?" |

It would be funny, yes, but it does happen. And if you go even further up in the family tree, our family is really interesting. My father was twentyeight years younger than one of his cousins and even a few years younger than her son. And my little niece is four years younger than a girl, who's her fifth cousin once removed, and thus a generation younger than her! (My siblings and I are her grandmother's fourth cousins.)

This is interesting. And yeah I DID hear of a case where a young boy like maybe 7 or 8 had like few nieces and nephews who were like in their teens and he thought he got to call the shots with them b/c he was their uncle lol |

I think in the end, it will come down to how old you are, not what generation you're in. |

age determines seniority, unless you are in line for the throne or something.

My brother's first marriage with his wife, Dawn, who already had a son, Christopher, who was five days older than my (half) sister. That would mean that he was older than his (half) step-aunt. I know it sounds weird.

I remember my Mom saying she beat her younger uncle with a belt for skipping school.
