Lol Beaver's voice sounded like a frog or goat in the last season of Leave It To Beaver

I know that beaver was 14 years old by the last season of leave it to beaver but does anyone think beavers voice sounded like a frog or goat at times it was hard to make out what he was saying it sounded so awful.

Cool

Beaver (and Jerry Mathers) were going through the same thing that happens to all boys at that age. All boys voices change as they go through puberty. If the show had lasted another season or two I'm sure Beaver (and Jerry) would have settled into his adult voice and sounded fine.

Not only did his voice change, he just acted kind of different. He sounded like a nerd during the last season. He just seemed goofy for some reason. It may have to do with him getting older. I thought when he wasnt talking to June for having to go to the store and trying to ruin Wally's party, it was just mean. It wasnt "well, he's a kid and doesnt know better" type of thing. It just seemed like he was a little nastier in the last season.

According to an interview with Barbara Billingsly (on the extra features DVD in the Beaver box set) Jerry Mathers who a very natural actor as a little boy became more self conscious as he grew up and his performaced changed perceptably in the final seasons.
