Cool

I think the character started out funny but got boring as the show went along because he kept doing the same things and repeating basically the same jokes over and over.

I would imagine this would be true of most any character on TV. Some do undergo some change, I suppose- but in many cases, it's the consistent nature of their character that makes them funny and some people enjoy that. Anyway, for my part, I always found Tim Taylor hilarious- I enjoy Home Improvement all the way through all 8 seasons.

Some might even hold the same opinion about Jerry Seinfeld. And he's one of the greatest standups of all time.Sooner or later, people like to move on to new shows, new comic idioms.Variety is the spice of life.

Even eddie murphy is seen as a joke in the year 2013 and he was a funny stand up comedian back in the 80's now people dont have anything good to say about him anymore but bash trash talk him on IMDB.com lol

Post Tim Allen

I think he was funny, but dangerous during the 8 years of Home Improvement.
