In this 1942 movie, Natalie has a scene as the mom of Olivia DeHavilland, who ends up in an insane asylum.

It's not a comedy but the mental patients' bizarre behavior provides some laughs.

Since it was made in Hollywood's golden age, the style is not too grim.

There's a parallel with a 2012 movie SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK. Both feature mental patients getting better through dance.

As silly as a prom at a mental institution may sound, it was one of the techniques used at the time along with electro shock!

Yes, Natalie was only 16 years younger than Olivia as I remember. Take a look at this one of a young pretty Natalie.

Olivia, I think she is still alive, must be around age mid 90's now. Wouldn't Natalie be maybe 100-105 if she was still alive.. I read Russell's (the professor;s ) book and he mentioned Natalie was, as least he thought in her 50's on Gilligan's Island.
