Debut of Esquire Network Delayed Till Summer

Viewers anticipating the debut of Esquire Network will have to wait a little longer.

The net confirmed to Variety that it has delayed the launch of the modern men’s network — a rebranding of G4 — pushing the debut from April 22 to summer.

Decision was made in order to ramp up the original series load for Esquire. Were the net to launch next week as planned, it would have only two original skeins. By waiting till summer, Esquire will be able to offer original programing including “Knife Fight,” “The Getaway,” “How I Rock It,” “American Field Trip” and “American Ninja Warrior.”

Net dubs the move a smarter decision, business-wise.

Adam Stotsky, general manager, said, “We have an opportunity to launch with more original programming than we had envisioned. In order to give our viewers a more substantial program offering that showcases the breadth of the Esquire Network, we are pushing our rebrand to the summer.”
