Well, not REALLY odd. It's just that the 60s were chuck full of Westerns and almost anyone who was anyone made some appearance on Gunsmoke. Even Marlo appeared on Bonanza(correct me if I'm wrong, but i know she appeared in one Western show). I'm surprised Ted Bessell didn't appear in any of the western shows. I wonder if it was just fate or if he didn't have the look to be in a Western show(i.e. too boy next door to be in a gritty western). I know he appeared in The Great Adventure but I don't think it was a western so much as an adventure series about historical events.

Thanks Mr. Drucker!
I think Ted would have been great as a cowboy. It's hard to track down his dramatic roles but he was excellent in comedic roles, especially Physical comedy.

I think I read Bessell was nominated once or twice for the Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Emmy award. And yes, judging from his sparkling performances alongside Ms. Thomas,he probably possessed more far reaching talents for the craft.By the way,I like the "Ed Platt" thing.
