Question Good Times crossover with All In The Family

Do you think the evans could get along with the bunkers as friends ?

Maybe in some general ways, but Archie's outrageously biggoted views would have easily spurred James on to give him a good thrashing!

I will give you a theory on what i think the evans and the bunkers were both broke and poor, i think it would be hard for them to be friends for two reasons james had a bad attitude and took his anger out on everybody for no reason and number 2 michael was all about black power which got annoying at times it made him look like a fool, i can see a episode where michael evans and archie bunker are having racial debate arguments they both had diff'rent view of opinions.

Well I don't the Bunkers were QUITE as poor as the Evans's

The Bunkers would have prolly been like lower middle class, the Evans family would prolly be like upper low class, I mean they weren't in the street.

Not only did the Evans most likely live in a lower socio-economic class, they would probably have been suffering more tension and stress as they lived right in the heart of a city where at least the Bunkers had at least a little serenity because at least they lived in a more suburban setting out in Queens, which must be more comfortable than taking things the way they are in the Bronx or Brooklyn.I think Edith and Florence could easily have been good friends.

James was not a racist man i think him having 3 trouble making kids that bugged him all the time 24/7 had something to do with him being an unhappy human being, i can see james and archie going out to a bar time from time having a beer or two they were both in the same boat they had family problems lol

James and Archie would have at least one HUGE thing in common. They were both combat soldiers with Bunker doing time during WWII and James haveing served in the Korean conflict.

I can see atleast james being a associate with Archie he could come over to his house and have a good conversation but as far as them being friends like hanging out together heck no, Archie would be afraid what his friends would think if he was friends with a black man from the inner city ghetto, i can see florida and edith being the best of friends they had the same personality.

So in other words it would be alot like real life in that there might exist certain "neighborly" obligations.Common courtesies,etc...

It COULD have happened b/c Good Times was an "indirect" spin-off of AITF.

I think between Michael and Archie is where the MAIN conflict woudl lie.

I can see JJ yelling DYNOMITE!! And Archie being like, "Ah, jezz, there he goes with that again!" lol
