I think Lamont could, he was generally nice to everyone, I think they would get on Fred's nerves though.

Lamont was a calm man he could make good friends with mike and carol and give good advice to their kids if needed, but fred was not mature he would not be able to be friends with the brady kids they would get on his nerves with their problems lol

Did you ever see the 80's spin-off Sanford?

In it, Fred is much nicer and more friendly.

Fred was always sorta prejudice in Sanford and Son, but in Sanford there were actually a couple of moments where he spoke out AGAINST bigotry.

And he was a much wamrer person.

I thought Easther was meaner in the spin-off thanshe was in S and S.

In S and S Esther usually tried to be nice to Fred and Fred usually started the fights, but in the Spin-off Esther is combative to start with.

I think the reason fred becomes less racist and more friendlier in the spin-off sanford was because he had the experience to be friends with a white guy and they became good partners.

I don't know why but I always thought the Sanford house looked kinda "neat" in a way, sorta had a cozy feel to it in some WEIRD way.

If it were cleaned up I don't think it would be a bad house.

Yeah, S and S was a much less "innocent" and more cynical show. It had some heart, but I can't see it meshing very well with the sunny optimism (and child targeted) Brady Bunch.

I dont see Alice going out with a wild man like fred sanford he was not really her type she was a housekeeper from the suburbs he was a junkman from the ghetto lol, but i can see Alice going on a date with a decent young man like lamont.

I don't think Fred would have dated a white woman.
