PHOENIX, Ariz. April 10, 2013 The prosecutor in the Jodi Arias murder trial has called into question psychotherapist Alyce LaViolette's creditability because the only person she interviewed to determine whether Arias suffered domestic abuse was Arias. Prosecutor Juan Martinez has spent the last week exchanging verbal jabs with LaViolette, who claims Arias was a victim of abuse at the hands of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander. At one point during Tuesday's war of words, LaViolette told Martinez he needed to "take a time out." Arias, 32, has admitted to killing Alexander, 30, after lying for nearly two years about it, but insists she killed him in self-defense. She could face the death penalty if convicted. http://abcnews.go.com/US/jodi-arias-...kpP4Hqfw.email |

(AP) PHOENIX - The prosecutor in Jodi Arias' murder trial is calling rebuttal witnesses aimed at discrediting the defense.
Three witnesses took the stand by late morning Tuesday as the prosecutor works to show juror Arias is lying. A colleague of the victim testified the couple appeared affectionate together. Arias says her one-time boyfriend Travis Alexander shunned her in public, only showing affection privately. |

PHOENIX -
It was a big day in the Jodi Arias trial. Not only did the state rest its case, but another juror was dismissed and Jodi spent much of the morning sobbing during testimony. And then there were 15. Juror #8 was dismissed from the jury -- the third juror to leave the panel in the nearly four-month old trial. "Ladies and gentleman the court has excused juror number eight from further participation in this case," said Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Sherry Stephens. There was no reason given. His chair was empty and he was not in court. We're trying to find out more about him. For the final day of testimony, prosecutor Juan Martinez called his last rebuttal witness to the stand -- the medical examiner. Arias cried in court while Dr. Kevin Horn testified. Horn performed the autopsy on Travis Alexander. He claims the gun shot injury through Travis' brain would have rendered him unconscious in a second or two -- meaning Travis wouldn't have been able to fight back against Jodi had he been shot first. And because there are defensive knife wounds on his hands, this suggests first Jodi stabbed Travis, then slashed his throat when he was down on his hands and knees, then shot him in the head. "Again because of the injury to the brain, the information processing part of the brain would have rendered him unable to raise his hands to offer any sort of purposeful action or to verbalize anything," Horn explained. |

This trial seems like it's been going on forever. If she walks....can't even fathom the thought.

BTW, this trial does seem to be going on forever. Part of the reason is that the jury is allowed to ask questions in Arizona. Prosecutor Juan Martinez is doing a fabulous job in my opinion. |

ABC: The Jodi Arias trial is nearing its end as final witnesses take the stand ... guy spilled his water, laughs & smiles inappropriately, now he belches at us all on the stand! ... A poor excuse of a defense team equals a poor defense.

The closing arguments in the Jodi Arias death row murder trial got off to an explosive start as prosecutor Juan Martinez took center stage and delivered a fiery performance.
Martinez paced and repeatedly raised his voice as he reminded the jury that it was Jodi who manipulated and abused victim Travis Alexander, not the other way around. “This individual, the defendant, killed Travis Alexander,” he began, accusing the defendant of lying since the trial began on January 2nd. “Even after stabbing him over and over again, even after taking a gun and shooting him in the face, she will not let him rest in peace,” Martinez said of the brutal attack that killed Travis on June 4, 2008.. |

PHOENIX (AP) — Jury deliberations have begun in the trial of Jodi Arias, who is charged in the stabbing and shooting death of her one-time boyfriend in Arizona.
Jurors got the case Friday after hearing closing arguments from both sides. Arias is accused of premeditated, first-degree murder in the June 2008 killing of Travis Alexander in his suburban Phoenix home. Arias initially denied involvement, then blamed the attack on masked intruders. Two years after her arrest, she said it was self-defense. Testimony began in early January and has been ongoing for nearly four months. The trial has been a made-for-the-tabloids drama, garnering daily coverage by the cable news networks, with tales of lurid sex, lies and death, nude photos and accounts of a salacious relationship that ended in a bloody killing. |

PHOENIX -
After two days of deliberations, there's no verdict yet, squashing predictions that this case would be a slam dunk. A second full day of deliberations proved fruitless Tuesday. The jury of eight men and four women left for the day about 4:40 p.m. without deciding on a verdict. |

I'm so glad that they found her guilty. Now the next step is for the jury to decide if she should get the death penalty.

PHOENIX (AP) — After four months, verdict day at the Jodi Arias trial brought a crowd to the courthouse to find out the jury's decision. Dozens of people lined up daily to try to get a seat in the courtroom, and others stood or sat outside. After it was announced Wednesday that a verdict had been reached, the crowd grew larger. Some chanted "Justice for Travis." As it drew closer to 1:30 p.m. and the verdict, people in the crowd urged others to "shhhh." At 1:49 p.m., the verdict came — guilty of first-degree murder. Some cheered and hugged, while others jumped and danced. People exchanged high-fives. The sounds of whistles and chants of "USA, USA, USA" filled the air. As for the crowds, Chris Hughes, a friend of victim Travis Alexander said, "Travis was grandiose so it's interesting how this played out...it is a bit of a circus." And the circus may not be over. Die-hard trial watchers may return to the courthouse when the jury reconvenes at 1 p.m. Thursday for the "aggravation phase."
