Default Bad News, Different Strokes has been removed from Wednesday Nights

To make room for All in the Family which will now be seen on Wednesdays at 9pm to 11pm. So as of April 29th, Different Strokes will only be seen on Sundays and Mondays.

Must not be doing that well in the ratings. So we go from 14 airings of DS down to 8. More info below

On the plus side, eight airings per week is still really good for a show that's been out of production for 27 years and went largely unseen in reruns for two decades. I wish instead of marathons, though, Antenna would air one or two episodes per day. Spread the show throughout the week.

I know that way it will be every night, 1 episode a night. And you are right I haven't seen these epsiodes since the late 80's which was almost 30 years ago.

But I just feel Brad that's a bad sign and that more removal is probably on the way. I just hope I can see the whole cycle and then after that I don't care what Atenna TV does

No it goes from 10 airings a week to 6. And Different Strokes is doing fine, all of its airings are still in primetime. They just wanted a different show for every weeknight. I'm sure the whole cycle will run, they're already in the Sam and Maggie episodes and once they change the schedule it lasts a few months. The next schedule change will probably be in September.

I would like to see Different Strokes go through there whole run. Right now, there when Drummond got married.

I will say one thing about Antenna TV. They go through an entire series of a show. Too close for Comfort, off the top of my head. Thats good because you can watch a whole series. Even if the series is doing lousy in the ratings at least they give you a showing of the whole series before they take it off. Not like some other channels, cough, Hallmark Channel, cough.

I would never turn to Hallmark again.

A removal is not on the way. All in the Family had to cut back on plays so they moved it to Wednesdays only. Next schedule change won't be likely until September or July, and I don't think Diff'rent Strokes is going to be removed. It just started in January... and the ratings are fine. This network is not about ratings really, like I have told you before.

Pavan, I do have a question for you and I apologize for sounding dense but lets say that Different Strokes or All in the Family etc. was on Antenna TV and had putrid ratings. Very, very bad ratings. Does Antenna TV have to wait for the next schedule to take the show off the air or do they take it off the air immediately?

So if the network is not about ratings then what is the reason behind a show having

Airing one day a week and a show airing 4 days a week?

That sucks.

It was mentioned in the blog that The Facts of Life was on Netflix Canada, but there was no mention of this on Netflix Canada which it is and just like The Facts of Life its mostly uncut. I got the last few seasons (ones not on DVD) if anyone wants them.
