Default Any idea why season 2 is so hard to find?

I got season 1 back when it first came out and was getting ready to order the rest of the available seasons. I cannot find the season 2 dvd's anywhere except on amazon.. used .. for $159. Everywhere else says not available. Any idea what is up with that? Or where I can find it? You can purchase the digital version on Amazon but I want the actual DVD's.

It's out of print. I believe when MPI got the rights to the other seasons 4+ Virgil lost the rights to the series. I really lucked out getting mine when I did.

I considered buying this DVD when it came out, but three episodes are edited. I hate edited episodes, so I didn't make the purchase. If I was a big Donna Reed fan, I probably would have bought the DVD regardless of the edited episodes. But I'm not really a fan of the show, there are other 60's shows I like better. I might watch Donna Reed on occasion if the episodes air on TV, but I'm not interested to have the show on DVD. Having said that, just because this DVD is now out of print, I don't think those who are selling a copy should ask a small fortune for it. That is a rip off.

That is really sad to me. Donna Reed is my all time favorite show. I guess I will go ahead and buy the other seasons and keep an eye out on ebay and other sites. Thanks everyone.

If you have a Hastings in your area, you could check there for a new or used copy. They also have a web site. Some pawn shops carry new & used DVDs too. Good luck on finding a copy.

Sucks about the edited eps on season 2. I love the Donna Reed show so I had a feeling that was the only way we'll ever get these episodes on DVD. So I just had to buy it.

I was interested in buying Father Knows Best but I was turned off by the major butching job on season 1 and murky quality on a majority of episodes.

It's been recently rumored that MPI is going to re-release seasons 1, 2, & 3 soon. I hope so...

WOW almost 50 bucks for season 1. I bought mine at Best Buy when it first came out for cheap and I vaguely recall it even had the "50th anniversary collection" hype sticker on the plastic wrap.

Lucky you that you got a signed copy from Paul and Shel. I just ordered mine from Amazon also when it was released and it was still a good price before it was out-of-print.

Hopefully with more bonus features and new interviews talking about those seasons. I would double-dip for those.
