Are these really adults discussing the physical merits of one actor over another? Both Dick York and Dick Sargent were talented actors who played the part of Darrin well. If I choose Mr. York's episodes over Mr. Sargent's, it's because I felt the scripts were better in the earlier seasons. The "war" going on here belongs to people of a third-grade mentality. (Maybe I shouldn't be so insulting to third-graders.)

This has nothing to do with which actor was the better Darrin. I'm not sure why you quoted my post but my advice to you would be that if you don't know what you're commenting on then don't comment at all. The third-grader reference might also be considered a personal attack but I'll let those in charge decide that.

I can't speak for TJ and Janice, but I think this person has it coming, Charles. If people want to come on and spam the boards repeatedly over a STUPID topic, then they can't expect the veterans of the board to turn a blind eye.

Well said. Zoneboy repeatedly defends idiocy and threatens those that question it. I've seen more examples of this than those that concern me. How he got to be a moderator is beyond me. Don't worry ZB. You have a few defenders left. I said good-bye to this page a while back. I'm saying it again. This was a potentially good site spoiled by ignorance and political BS.

Would you care to provide an example of any idiocy I've defended or any threats I've made? Like I said, you made a comment on a thread that had nothing to do with who was the better Darrin. Mods aren't perfect and as far as your bewilderment about my being one is concerned, don't question it here in an open forum. Take your gripe to an administrator and plead your case with them. The ability of a mod to perform their job is something that shouldn't be discussed in an open forum. Also, griping about my moderating won't do you a bit of good here since I'm not a mod on this forum.

What in the world are you talking about? This thread was started by a spammer who has a history of cluttering the boards. Why in the world would you came in this thread to insult a moderator and call everyone a three year old is beyond me. This wasn't even a Dick York vs Dick Sargent thread. This was someone having a temper tantrum.

Well that was certainly a weird way to start a thread but I'm glad to see that this person isn't a regular poster.

The "threats" I am referring to are on a thread I cannot locate to a poster who has since been banned. The poster had decidedly right-wing ideas and was taken to task by Zoneboy as well as Janice (the poster referred to her towards the end of the post as "fat" Janice (not my words.) This post is a spin-off of the nasty "York vs. Sargent" post, and my reference to third-grade mentality was pointed at that silly, superficial topic. The fact that I happened to answer Zoneboy's post was merely because his was the last post on the thread. He immediately began telling me to investigate what I am talking about, talking down to me as if I were a third-grader. He has a habit of jumping the gun, criticizing posters who do not agree with everything on the page. As far as Janice is concerned, when I took issue with political avatars which I still say have nothing to do with sitcoms or other TV shows, she very nicely sent me her own avatars, pushing her political beliefs in my face on a private message. As a person who does admittedly lean to the right, I think that particular message, private or not, was particularly inappropriate from a moderator. Zoneboy attacked my criticism of some grammatical mistake that I took issue with perhaps a year ago. Maybe I was wrong to do that, but look at Tubeheads posts and tell me there shouldn't be some kind of grammatical guidelines put into effect. I have had many good and meaningful conversations with a good many of you in the past, but the aggravation of putting up with all this is not worth it. I have very good discussions with people on IMDB, where I have posted more than 150 reviews. Some agreed with, some not. But the discussions are of an adult and respectful nature. Ditto for Nitrateville, where the posters seem to be of a more agreeable ilk. I shall therefore confine my comments to those pages, where topics such as this never make it to the discussion stage.
