Default In your opinion, what's the best series and spinoff of all time?

What do you think? I would put Happy Days and Laverne and Shirley near the top as well as All in the Family and The Jeffersons.

I would put Friends and Joey near the bottom. Growing Pains and Just the 10 of Us would have been higher if Just the 10 of Us was on a little longer.

I would put Cheers and Frasier at the top, followed by Andy Griffith/Gomer Pyle and Different Strokes/Facts of Life. Benson is my favorite overall spinoff but I don't like Soap.

As for Happy Days, I consider Mork & Mindy to be a lot better spin-off than Laverne & Shirley.

Touched by an Angel - Promised Land

BJ and the Bear - The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo

Zane Grey Theatre - This Anthology Series Beget:

Black Saddle

Johnny Ringo

The Rifleman - Beget its own spinoff - Law of the Plainsmen

Stagecoach West

The Westerner

Five Spinoffs, one of which had its own spinoff. Has any series topped this?

In Terms of the Best Combo...

1. Cheers/Frasier
2. Mary Tyler Moore/Rhoda
3. Happy Days/Laverne & Shirley

Stagecoach West was produced by Dick Powell's Four Star Productions but it wasn't a spinoff from Zane Grey Theatre.

You did forget one spinoff from ZGT which was Trackdown and that series spun-off Wanted: Dead or Alive making it one of the first spinoffs of a spinoff. It may have been the very first but I'm not certain.

I'm not a fan of Happy Days, but like Laverne & Shirley a lot. I'm looking forward to watching Mary Tyler Moore all the way through for the first time, eventually.

All In The Family - Maude
All In The Family - The Jeffersons
Cheers - Frasier
Perfect Strangers - Family Matters
Star Trek: TNG - Star Trek: DS9
Beverly Hills, 90210 - Melrose Place
Law & Order - Law & Order : SVU

Arguably, Frasier was the most successful spinoff of all time.

I'm sure that it surprises no one that my answer to this is Frasier. Made all the more wonderful by David Hyde Pierce as Dr. Niles Crane!

All In The Family/Maude/The Jeffersons
Happy Days/Laverne & Shirley

While I never got into Cheers I thought Frasier had one of the best supporting casts ever.

My sources differ, but thanks for the info. I just ordered Trackdown and Wanted Dead or Alive from "traders" on sell.com
