The Brady Bunch and Gilligan's Island join the lineup. Maverick re-joins the lineup.
Happy Days, The A-Team, and All in the Family go on hiatus.

4pm I Love Lucy replaces Happy Days
4:30pm I Love Lucy replaces Happy Days

Saturday and Sunday
7am The Brady Bunch replaces Happy Days
4pm I Love Lucy replaces Happy Days (Saturday only)

Ya know, what I may say may offend some people so if you are a Brady Bunch fan please turn away from screen or back out of my post. When I was younger I never liked Happy Days, I started watching it now and it really is a cool show. I'm kind of low on money which is one reason why I didn't get a million blank tapes and start recording. I like Happy Days enough to start recording it. What's the point now if it is leaving on Feb 25th?

Turn away now BB fans: I'm disgusted with the Brady Bunch. I'm 17 years old and I know its been on reruns since 1984. Has it ever been off reruns???? I bet the minute it went off air, they cranked up the reruns to show and drive everybody crazy. The same goes with Gilligan's Island. What I'm saying is it might be a very good investment to let these two series die for awhile. Come on BB has been on TBS, N @ N, and now moving to TVLand?? Look at Gilligan's Island, it's been on TBS, TNT, N @ N, and now moving to TVLand? Neither show was really that good. The premise for both shows kind of gets old. With GI, you got 6 people stuck on the island. That's it, the storyline and plot was played out in season 1. Look at BB, oh we are so groovy and life is just so peachy. Blah, Blah, Blah, Barf

We need to email Tvland guys. We have to keep the Fonz and Happy Days on and not let them go on hiatus. We can't be silenced.

Default HD hiatus

How long will HD be on hiatus? I hope not too long!Is anyone besides me tired of "I Love Lucy" on every cable network known to man? I hated lucy to begin with! I think that's the show we need to boycott!!

Although I love both The Brady Bunch and Gilligan's Island, I am not impressed with the shows moving to TV Land.
I would rather have Happy Days and Laverne & Shirley on because those shows never get to air as much as 'Brady' & 'Gilligan'. I am shocked that Happy Days will be off the air soon and the show just got back on the air less than two months. I find that to be unbelieveable. That shows how much the people running TV Land care about the fans.

I 100% disagree with you. I Love Lucy is fairly new to TV Land and thus it should air more than the other shows (that have been of TV Land for quite some time such as Hogan's Heroes). The one show that TV Land should cut down on is The Andy Griffith Show because it has been rerunned more than any other show on TV Land.

Nah, I don't think we should blame Lucy. The schedule that tvland has now is good with L & S at 3, HD at 4, Beaver at 5, Lucy at 6 and so on. I honestly blame the shows that have been on every station known to man such as The Brady Bunch, and Gilligan's Island.

Let me do some figuring right now. I've got my tv guide out and I want to figure out what show could leave the schedule to get HD back on.

Get Smart- When did this come on? Wasn't it '99 or '00?
Gomer Pyle- Gomer has been on for awhile. My gut feeling is telling me in May that tvland may have dropped it from the schedule.
Dick Van Dyke- Didn't it come in 2000 or 2001? I'm still thinking it may be too soon for them to drop DVD or MTM.
Mary Tyler Moore- same as above
Leave it to Beaver- They recently brought LITB back due to the fans complaining when it was dropped- I don't think it will leave anytime soon.
The Bev. Hillbillies- I'm wishing they would drop this show and show HD in it's place. Wishful thinking I suppose....
Gunsmoke- ??? Have no estimation of when it came to tvland, so I'll just leave this one blank
Rockford Files- Just came on this year or the end of last year- its here to stay for awhile
The A- Team- same as Gunsmoke
I Love Lucy- Just brought it to station- no way in hell they are dropping it so soon
The Andy Griffith Show- My gut feeling is telling me that Andy may be gone by May too. I think Andy and Gomer came to tvland at the same time, but hopefully they'll atleast keep Andy on the schedule
Love Boat- I think it came around 2001- it may be around to stay for awhile
Munsters- I would say the future is kind of bleak on the Munsters. They only have about 80 episodes and rerunning them over and over since about 2000 (?)- It is probably the next one to go
Hogan's Heroes- Same as Gunsmoke and The A- Team- I'm leaving it blank
Taxi- Same as above-leaving it blank
Jeffersons-- See Taxi
Barney Miller- This one has been on since 2000 I think- Has a possibility for leaving
The Odd Couple- Not sure about this show either. It looks kind of bleak. It's only on one time a day, and on at like 4 in the morning- maybe it will be gone soon???
Honeymooners- ?
Charlie's Angels- It left, but came back so I expect it will be here to stay for awhile
Mannix-?

Sorry I had to do each show like this guys- I wanted to get a written figure of the shows that could leave in favor of HD. I had another thought. Two shows from N @ N are being picked up at TNN. (Three's Company and Diff'rent Strokes) Maybe if tvland doesn't put it back on immediately, they could sell the rights to TNN? I know TNN sucks too with that big black bar at the bottom of the screen, but atleast we would see HD..

Hey, if its not too much trouble for the ones that actually read my full post- post back and share your opinion with the others about the shows that you think are about to be dropped from the schedule. You don't have to list every show on tvland like I did, but just choose the ones that you think are about out of time.

How immature . . .

No, you can actually thank TV Land because they're the ones that had Happy Days replaced by these shows. Lucy is no way in hell to blame. It is the progamming people . . . they were the ones that thought up the schedule probably. So don't blame Lucy!

It lost the rights? That's interesting since it seems they've only had it for two monthes. I guess that's why they cancelled the Sunday Best.

I don't think I Love Lucy is to blame. The Brady Bunch and Gilligan's Island are the culprits. 'Bunch' took L&S' time slot, and Gilligan took away Lucy's slot and Lucy had to take 4 PM since Gilligan took 6 PM. I think that both shows are over syndicated. I love Gilligan and I hope he stays, but I wish they would have replaced two episodes of "the Andy Griffith Show" isntead of Happy Days. Gilligan right now is airing on TV LAND, TBS, & Turner South. I'd expect Lucy to stay for a VERY, VERY long time since it has given TV LAND some very good ratings, same for "The Andy Griffith Show"

Jenny, here are some of the ones that you couldn't figure out when you looked up the shows:

-"Mannix":Been on since 1996
-"The A-Team": 2000, is now on TNN
-"Get Smart":2001
-"Gunsmoke": Since 1996
-"The Odd Couple": Since Dec 2000
-"The Honeymooners": Since either 99 or 2000
-"The Jeffersons": 2002
-"Taxi": Nov 2001
-"Hogan's Heroes": 1996
-"The Munsters: Came back in June 2001

Default Well, now where?

I wonder who will get it next. Hallmark? Nick at Nite? TNN? Goodtimes? Or is it a syndication run like Mork & Mindy and The Lucy SHow? Hmm...

Just my opinion......................I think TVLand should drop all the shows that you can still see on digital cable. I mean you can see Brady Buch on Nick at Nite, Gilligan on TBS, Andy Griffith on just about every station. They should just keep the one's like Beaver, Happy Days, Gomer and some of the other greats. Hallmark channel actually showed Happy Days on their line-up in 2001 but it didn' last long. They dropped it however they dropped ALF at one tme and they now have it back so maybe they will get Happy Days back. You guys are cracking me up blaming the actual shows for the drop, i say it's poor programming.....

Cool

*sniffle* That is so right on. Tv Land doesn't seem very special to me now that it shows so many things that are on five of my other local channels! Oddly enough, about a year ago, I realized this is the first time in my life that Happy Days has not been on in my area. I considered taping it from TVland, and probably should have. These shows I grew up with all my life are disappearing. Dang!
