The answer is yes. UM featured Jodi Huisentruit case in 1996.

Was it ever proven that Jodi was in fact murdered?

Because it was clearly an abduction and it's been almost 18 years, I think sadly, she had to have been murdered. I highly recommend watching that Disappeared episode because it's much longer than the UM segment, is as recent as this year and includes info from both decades of the investigation, and has longer interviews with friends of hers and more insight into who Jodi was. |

I just watched the ID episode for this.
As with many unsolved cases that get a lot of attention and remain unsolved for years and years, a lot of things get considered that makes things more confusing for those who are trying to get answers. I'm not sure how it can be proven, but it seems very likely John VinCase (? sp) is the man responsible for her disappearance. Sometimes the answer is the most obvious choice. He seems/seemed to be a wealthy man in a small town, so I wouldn't be surprised if he found ways to pay-off or reward certain people in their local police department to keep them off his back. |

Is this episode on Netflix? I’ve seen the show Disappeared on there.

i came across this link which i thought was interesting and i dont know if anyone has posted it before but on a news show, they interviewed the people behind findjodi.com - two reporters who had been following the case for 3 years and said that a witness came forward to say she was there when Jodi was murdered and named 6 people involved but later recanted her story b/c of pressures from the police?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LltJnZ0cSCw i think her story could be somewhat credible... feel as though police is trying to cover up something. |

The friend of hers named John also said that he was the last person to see her alive. How exactly would he know that? Guy seems off to me. There was also some questions about his claim that Jodi came over the night before she disappeared and watched a video with him at 8:00, but Jodi was leaving the golf outing around that time and placed a call at her residence at 8:24, so that throws up huge questions about his claim. I can't definitively say its him though. There's a lot of good suspects in this one. The guy following her in the black truck nags me. There was also Maria Ohl's statement that several police officers were responsible. She didn't come forward initially because she didn't want to risk her employment, but as more info came out, she came out with the statement and did in fact lose her job. She has appealed her firing, but as of this date hasn't been reinstated, though she was awarded nearly $100,000 for wrongful termination. Interestingly, Maria's 2 informants both died under very suspicious circumstances: one was found dead with a syringue near his body, implying drug overdose, but there was no drugs in his system when the autopsy was performed. Definitely sounds like there could be more to this story. I could have sworn there was a thread on here about how the possible motive for Jodi's killing was that she was investigating the suspicious death of her good friend a few weeks previous to her abduction, but damned if I can find that thread. The toilet seat being up nags me. It appeared as if she was abducted outside, but why would the toilet seat in her apartment be up? I find it hard to believe she would have any visitors that night. We know she was up as late as 8:30 and intended to wake up at 2:00, so that leaves her only 5 and a half hours sleep tops. Now I'm really confused. I know I've mentioned this before, but what really throws me was that she was running waaay late that day. In that sense, I can't imagine it was somebody stalking her because they would have known her routine and figured she was already long gone to work. Unless they knew what car she drove and saw it still in the parking lot, but how did they know she didn't call in that day or something? Plus, it would have required them to be in the parking lot for a long time and they had their parking lights on. Granted this was the middle of the night, but to be out there that long runs the huge risk of somebody spotting them/him, whatever. My mind has officially been boggled. |

The only good explanation I can think of about the toilet seat being up is that she was ill and possibly put it up to vomit. It is possible she was ill or not feeling well, and that may well be why she overslept and was late for work.
