well, at least this isn't based on a board game since it's based on a family card game we all know and love.

but I Guess it will still fail none-the-less even if it makes it one the air or not (for which I assume the later will develop), but I just don't and never will understand on why Board games that turn into game shows fail (minus the 1984-90 version of Scrabble and Family Game Night).

I mean is it because that people would rather play the board or card game with their friends and families themselves rather than just watch it on tv?

Yeah, it is much more fun to play it than watch someone else playing it.

For the record, I love the "Scrabble" game show of the late '80s.

But an "UNO" game show does sound kinda out there...guess I'd have to watch and see what they do with it first to see if I'd like it.
Of course, ESPN airs poker tournaments, so I guess it's not the first time to have a TV show where you just watch people play cards.

well what about the success stories of Card Sharks, Gambit, Las Vegas Gambit and Catch 21 guys?

obviously the Jim Perry/Bob Eubanks/Bill Rafferty versions and not the abominated Pat Bullard version from 2001.

and to be on the bright side at least I never listed Strip Poker as one of the examples. for which I doubtfully you ever heard of or anybody else for that matter since that was a short-lived crapfest of a show back on the USA Network in the year 2000.

I've both heard of it and watched it. The gameplay element itself wasn't too bad...

And let's not forget "Pay Cards" too as a game show that involved playing cards.

And it's 1981-1982 ill-fated and totally "upgraded" sequel Super Pay Cards!

(which of course both were hosted by the late Art James)

also I like to add TNN's short-lived world of card-based game shows in thr form of Top Card

but back to Strip Poker, the show was much more about "Eye Candy" instead of "Game Play" if you know what i mean.
