Default What made Jetrho so dumb?

Do you think it was just a lack of education OR did he have some kind of learning disablity?

If properly educated do you think he could have become like a "normal" person?

His mother was kind of smart, considering she was from the hills. She was smarter then the Clampetts.

As Dumb as he was I was surprised he could drive all over Beverely Hills and CA and get where he was going and he drove from their home out to CA.

Cool

I think Jethro was more naive than dumb.

Yeah that surprised me, I can BARELY read a map and I live in Tennessee and I know I'd prolly end up lost if I attempted to drive to CA.

It makes me wonder if the Clampettes drove on the interstate or took back roads.

I don't know how they could drive the inter states and not get in trouble for Ellie and Granny sitting up high on the truck, especially Granny. That's a real hassard.

They could have taken back roads and went through towns and cities and stayed OFF the innerstates.

I would immagine the truck couldn't go fast enough to drive on the innerstates anyway.

Because the charactor was so dumb, Max Bear had trouble getting work after Hillbillies. He said nobody wanted to see a 35 year old dummy.

To quote Jeff Foxworthy, I believe that Jethro had "a glorious lack of sophistication."
