What happened to Morley Safer?

I live in China, and thus have to get my television from various websites and whatnot, so maybe I am not up to speed on cast changes on shows and whatnot.

I have noticed that Morley Safer is no longer on the lineup at 60 Minutes. He's getting up there in years (he is 81 years old), but it seems strange to me that he disappeared. No retirement announcement (that I am aware of). Is he sick? There has been no information at all if he is, and it makes little sense to keep something like that private. There has been no tribute to Safer's work, and his Wiki page states nothing about retirement, sickness, or any disruption of work from the 60 Minutes series.

I have also noticed that there are more correspondents now, more than the three stories that they do on a Sunday night. Looks to be really classy people with exceptionally high IQ's and perfect speaking voices. Lara Logan is hot.

But, where is Morley? Even if he did say "screw it" one day and quit like a teen leaving McDonalds, there would be an introspection.
