Home Improvement, Family Matters, Boy Meets World, and Kirk.

At that time, I wasn't watching much prime-time shows. I was too old for TGIF...too young for Must-See TV.

I may make a song about it using this song...

It doesn't have to be shows you originally watched in 1996. I was only 12 then, wasn't allowed much TV. A lot of these shows I've watched in syndication.

I love the smell of the 90's! Everything was better then! Most of the shows on this poll I ended up voting for because this is when TV was awesome!

There were thankfully still some good shows in the 1990s. 1996 was getting close to the point where I started watching less and less network TV. There are some shows I like on the networks (just very few).
For me, I like the television shows of the 1920s-1980s much better (that's counting the earliest broadcasts like "Felix the Cat"- still a great, fun cartoon.)
But I try to find the good things I can enjoy from any time period. (As God says in His Word, The Bible, in 1 Thessalonians 5:21-22 "Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid all appearance of evil.")
For 1996 though, this is when Early Edition premiered and it is definitely one of my favorite '90s shows and one of my favorite shows period.
I also enjoyed Home Improvement and Star Trek: Voyager in that year, along with Step by Step that was still running and Boy Meets World and Saved By the Bell: The New Class and Hang Time and City Guys and Hangin' with Mr. Cooper and Baywatch and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Family Matters and Touched By An Angel and Promised Land and Eek!Stravaganza and Spider-Man ('90s FOX show), and Cosby and Coach and Wishbone as well.
Also premiering in this year were Jim Henson shows Aliens in the Family and Muppets Tonight!- both of which I enjoy.
