Default I'm glad

I read a blog from someone who went to a Q and A with Marlo Thomas; she and Ted WERE an item at some point. There's a photo on ebay from an article and you can see this twinkle in their eye as they sit face to face during a special event. How weird that he was married to a stripper(his first wife). So sad he died young. I've seen photos of his two daughters...they definitely have his nose and his smile. He was also a very religious man as is his youngest daughter.

Never could get why Mr. Marie didn't like Don. At first I figured it was just the protective father thing but when Dr. Rex Kennedy(played by Ted Bessell) is in Ann's room, Mr. Marie has NO problem. All because Rex is a doctor. But what's NOT to like about Don? Well off, successful, smart, good dresser, clean cut. Who WOULDN'T want their daughter to marry someone like him?
As far as Ted Bessell, I made a mistake: actually his 1st wife was a model and he got the marriage annulled SUPPOSEDLY because she stopped marital relations and didn't want kids. I wonder if this is when he and Marlo dated. Then he married the stripper in the 70's. But no mention of when, when it ended and if it was annulled. I assume so because he was a daily communicant(received sacrament) at his Catholic church. He married his 3rd wife and had 2 daughters who are in their late 20's. I heard he loved kids and he was a super sweet, down to earth guy. RIP.

How many years ago did Ted die. As I remember mid 90's. Also How old was he.?? It is hard to image Mario is in her 70's when I see her so young and peppy 45 years ago. Some of the episodes I have seen lately have been a little dull. Hope they pep up.

Ted died in 1996, he was 61. He also had 2 young daughters who were between 10-12. I've been watching him in other stuff including MTM and the short-lived series Hail to the Chief. Talk about a complete 360 from Don Hollinger. He was VERY good at doing physical comedy too. I read an interview from a reporter who had access to the court documents surrounding his first marriage. Apparently she lied to him before getting married, saying she wanted kids. After the honeymoon she ended physical contact with Ted who so desperately wanted kids.

At the time of TG, he was separated from his wife. I believe they were legally married from 63 to 67, but separated in 66. Don't know when he and Marlo dated. Obviously during the series, whether in the beginning or end I don't know. He was married to the stripper sometime in the 70's and divorced in the 80's. I can't find ANYTHING on it. I always hoped he had a small fling with Patty Duke. They worked on a movie in the 60's, then again right after his tenure in TG(she was between John Astin and Desi jr) and then they worked again on Hail to the Chief. I'd like to think they had a fling in the early 70s while doing the film Two on a Bench. Anyway, he married for a final time in 82 to a woman named Linell Nobori. They met in art school. Apparently he was an avid artist and used it as an outlet, of sorts, for his manic, creative juices. She said he could be a moody "artist type" and she wished he could have been more mild-manered like Don Hollinger. Still she loved him and i've read that he was just the nicest, down to earth person. very religious too.
