I thought Kimberly's singing was pretty good, but she knew for damn sure that the lead singer spot was meant for Charlene. Charlene already had her heart set on being the singer, so Kimberly should have backed off.

I'll take Kimberly over Charlene any day. Charlene didn't add anything to the show. Kimberly was underused and should have had a role equal to Arnold and Willis. And she was pretty good eye candy too.

Well Charlene wasn't going to add much because her role didn't allow for it which was Willis girlfriend.

Yeah. It wasn't like Charlene was going to have top hits 3 or 4 years later and become a pop icon so she needed this hit. LOL.

Nah. It wasn't because of Monique. They moved past that. They simply broke up off screen because she wound up transferring the school of performing arts in Manhattan in 1984.

The break up is mentioned at the beginning of season seven. Back in 2000, Todd(TJ) uploaded the episode on the SOL- DS website. It might still be there.
