They could have gotten rid of sam and maggie by the ninth season they could have had mr drummand divorce her, the ninth season would mostly be about arnold and his high school life he is constantly getting himself in trouble each episode.

It probably could have worked if they just focused on Arnold and his friends since Willis and Kimberly was gone
