Does Ben Weaver remind anyone else of Margarit Hamilton's character Elmira Gulch from the Wizard of Oz??

I hated the episodes in which Will Wright appeared as Ben Weaver. He was such a grumpy old man. I'm glad they switched to Tol Avery as Ben Weaver in The Shoplifters.
