Elvis was the highest paid actor for many years. He was the 1st to get a Million Dollars per picture. Of course Parker got half of that. How was it that Hal Wallis was able to pay him so much? He hired TV actresses as his love interests in his films. Jailhouse rock was Judy Tyler. Princess Summerfall Winterspring from the howdy doody show. King Creole was Moticia Adams. Carolyin Jones. Frankie and Johnny, was Ellie May Clampett. Donna Douglas. Change of Habit was Mary Tyler Moore. Follow That Dream was Anne Helm, a notable TV actress at the time. It happened at the Worlds Fair was Joan O-brien. Another TV actress. The list just goes on. and 98% of his loves in the movies were TV actresses. There was only one girl that became a huge star, and that was Raquel Welch who was a College Girl in Roustabout.

I wonder if Elvis felt Hollywood didn't care much for him as a human being? Meaning, he felt he could have made better films than what he was making.
